Meet Annie and Jason! They are one of J&S Photography’s 2015 wedding couples and we are proud to do their engagement photos.
When they booked their engagement session we decided on two different locations. The first was a awesome secret area of old Fort Devens and the other was the AWESOME Bancroft castle at Gibbet Hill in Groton Massachusetts. Devens has some unique locations to shoot at for sure, but nothing compares to how unique a castle in New England would be!
The castle has some interesting history. It was first built by General William Bancroft in 1906. The castle remains that are there today were actually the “bungalow” that was to accompany a large castle like home. Funding soon ran out and the larger castle was never constructed unfortunately. Sometime in the 1930’s the castle caught fire at a 4th of July celebration and only the stone exterior remains. The castle is part of Gibbet Hill Grill who preserved the land for the public to enjoy. We must warn you that the castle is up a very steep hill. So, it does take a little effort to get to the top. But, once you are there the views are amazing! Especially when watching a sunset while being serenaded by the cows.
Annie and Jason are a awesome couple! Annie being originally from nearby Littleton, we felt it was important to include some more local locations for their session. It was a great (but slightly windy) day for a session. We ended up with SO many amazing images from their session. We hope you enjoy them just as much as we all did! I am sure we will post another blog post of their perfect Littleton backyard wedding.
Enjoy this post full of wonderful engagement photography!
