Kim & Nick are Married!
Being a wedding and portrait photographer has many perks, but one of the most special things about this job is getting the opportunity to document special moments in our old friend’s and past classmate’s lives. I was lucky enough to attend Clark University in Worcester, MA with the lovely bride, Kim, and while we competed in different sports, we were fast friends when we met in 2003! It’s an understatement to say that I was excited when she contacted me in 2014 to photograph her wedding!
As you will see below, we had an absolute blast photographing Kim & Nick’s wedding on June 21st, 2015 at the stunning Water’s Edge Resort & Spa in Westbrook, Connecticut!
You certainly cannot beat this view! What a beautiful day for a wedding!
With the water just feet away from the ceremony location, we knew we had to take advantage of the beach for some bridal portraits!
Had you told us that the wedding ended here, we would have been truly happy with the intimate getting ready images, ceremony images with that beautiful blue sky and fun beach portraits, but the beauty sure did not end there! We were lucky enough to not only see a double rainbow, but it happened at the exact perfect moment in between scheduled wedding events that allowed us to capture this incredible double rainbow portrait. (Yes, the double rainbow is, in fact, completely real!)
Wedding receptions are always super fun, but Kim & Nick took the party to another level celebrating their time spent in New Orleans. While we were photographing the guests dancing on the dance floor, we noticed the trombonist from the talented Silver Arrow Band started playing “When The Saints Go Marching In”, and we had no idea what amazingness was about to erupt on the dance floor!! All of a sudden, everyone was waving personalized rally towels as Kim & Nick joined the party with their incredible Mardi Gras-inspired umbrellas! Don’t worry, we understand how awesome this sounds, and wish you could have been there too, blog readers! At least you can re-live this awesome moment through the images below!
We knew that we wanted to take Kim & Nick outside for some night shots, but when we saw those Mardi Gras/NOLA-inspired umbrellas, we just couldn’t NOT use them! Here are a couple of our favorites!
Here’s to many, many more years of love and happiness, Kim & Nick! Thanks again for allowing us to be a part of your incredible wedding day!
